Autonomous Social Sciences and Alternative Development in Times of Multiple Crises

The Asia-Pacific region is currently navigating a severe “poly-crisis, characterized by the volatile convergence of ecological emergencies, political instability, and persistent socio-economic precarity. This conference aims to move beyond technical solutions to these crisis, fostering instead a` critical reflection on knowledge, power, and justice. By strengthening autonomous social sciences, this event aims to equip scholars and practitioners with theoretical toots to challenge hegemonic discourses and articulate alternative development imaginaries that are contextually meaningful and historically grounded.

The International conference provides a forum to address Southeast Asia’s multiple crises­ecological, political, and social-by fostering dialogue on autonomous social sciences. We invite you to contribute and explore alternative development visions and practices rooted in the  realities of the  Global South.

February 28th, 2026: Abstract and panel proposal submission deadline

March 5th, 2026: Review and notification of acceptance

March 15th, 2026: Early bird registration

March 6-30th, 2026: Participant registration

April 30th, 2026: Full paper submission deadline
