For the first time after 2018, the conference was held outside the Philippines. The grassroots organizations Serikat Petani Pasundan (SPP- Pasundan Peasant Union) and the Konfederasi Pergerakan Rakyat Indonesia (KPRI) spearheaded the organizing of this conference together with the Movement for Alternatives and Solidarity in Southeast Asia (MASSA), a movement of grassroots and social movements based in the region. The UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) Program on Alternative Development (AltDev) remains the conference secretariat. The conference objectives are: (1) to facilitate People-to-People (P2P) exchanges focused on alternative practitioners’ organizational structures, enabling MASSA members, SPP leaders, and participants to share and learn from each other’s experiences; (2) to expand the understanding and application of alternative practices in the region; and (3) to strengthen MASSA as a network by discussing its organizational structure and processes.
