ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Prof. Dr. Isa Blumi is a renowned US scholar and specialist in Middle East Area Studies. His recent book on Yemen has raised awareness about one of the most severe humanitarian disasters of the 21st century (2018, Destroying Yemen: What Chaos in Arabia Tells Us about the World, University of California Press). 

The lecture is part of the course “Contemporary Politics of the Global South.”

It is jointly hosted by the Department of Conflict and Development Studies, the Conflict Research Group, and the Middle East and North Africa Research Group
